Install Jentic One Beta

Connect the Modash API to your agent

Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the Modash API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.

Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.

Step 1: Jentic One Host machine

# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fmodash.io%2Fmodash" | sh

Step 2: Agent machine

# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fmodash.io%2Fmodash" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instance

Jentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.

Use Cases

Patterns agents use Modash API for, with concrete tasks.

★ AI agent creator discovery via Jentic

An AI agent connected through Jentic finds creators for a campaign without reading the Modash reference docs. It searches by intent such as finding influencers in a niche, Jentic returns the matching Modash operation with its input schema, and the agent runs a filtered search and pulls profile reports to shortlist creators. The developer's own Jentic One instance injects the bearer token at call time.

Call POST /instagram/search with audience filters, then GET /instagram/profile/{userId}/report for each shortlisted creator

Audience fit and overlap analysis

Brands avoid paying several creators who share the same followers. The audience overlap operation compares a set of Instagram creators, and profile reports expose audience demographics, so an agent can assemble a non-overlapping roster that reaches distinct audiences for a budget.

Call POST /instagram/reports/audience/overlap for a list of creators to find shared-audience redundancy

Lookalike and text-driven sourcing

Teams describe an ideal creator in plain language instead of tuning filters. The AI-powered text search turns a description into matching Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube creators, and the lookalikes operation expands from a seed profile, so an agent can grow a shortlist from one good example.

Call POST /ai/instagram/text-search with a description, then POST /ai/instagram/lookalikes from the best match to expand the list

Email-to-account resolution

Agencies holding only email addresses want the matching social presence. The email search operation resolves a list of emails to social accounts, letting an agent enrich a contact list with the creators' profiles before outreach.

Call POST /email-search with a list of email addresses to resolve them to social accounts

Key Endpoints

Why Jentic?

What agents get from Jentic-routed access to this vendor.

Setup

Wiring the Modash API by hand means learning its bearer scheme, shaping per-platform audience filters, and paging raw-data endpoints yourself. Through Jentic you install once, import Modash from the API Directory, store the token once, and your agent calls the search and report operations.

Permission scoping

Modash carries most search targets in the request body, so Jentic rules bound which operations your agent may call rather than which creator. A rule can limit it to the discovery and profile-report reads, so the raw-data and collaboration endpoints stay out unless you add them.

Credential isolation

Your Modash bearer token is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.

Intent-based discovery

Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'find Instagram influencers' or 'get a creator report', and Jentic returns the matching Modash operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without browsing the reference docs.

FAQs

Specific to using Modash API through Jentic.

What authentication does the Modash API use?

The Modash API authenticates with an HTTP bearer token in the Authorization header, per its OpenAPI spec. The health check is open, while search, report, and raw-data operations require the token. Through Jentic, your token is stored encrypted by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time, so it never enters the agent's context.

Can I search creators across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube with the Modash API?

Yes. Each platform has its own search operation that accepts audience and performance filters, and a matching profile report operation returns demographics and engagement for a creator. An agent can run the same shortlist workflow across all three networks.

What are the rate limits for the Modash API?

The OpenAPI spec does not state numeric rate limits. Check the Modash documentation at https://docs.modash.io for current request and credit limits before running large discovery batches.

How do I find lookalike creators through Jentic?

Search Jentic by intent such as finding similar creators, and it returns the Modash lookalikes operation with its input schema. Pass a seed profile or a text description, read the matches, and pull each profile report, with your token injected at call time. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.

Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the Modash API?

Yes. Write a rule that allows only the search and profile-report read operations, so the agent can discover and analyze creators but cannot touch the raw-data or collaboration endpoints you leave out, and every call it makes is logged by your self-hosted instance.

Is there a Modash API MCP server?

You do not need an MCP server to give your agent the Modash API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import it, store your bearer token once, and your agent calls the search and report operations on demand without loading another server's tool definitions into its context.

For Agents

Search Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube creators by audience filters, pull profile reports, measure audience overlap, and find lookalikes or accounts by email.

Use for: I need to find Instagram influencers in a niche, I want to pull the audience report for a TikTok creator, Search YouTube creators by subscriber and engagement filters, Find lookalike creators similar to a seed profile

Not supported: Does not publish posts, run ad campaigns, or send messages to creators. Use for influencer discovery and audience analytics only.

The Modash API discovers and analyzes creators across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. It searches influencers by audience and performance filters, returns full profile reports, measures audience overlap between creators, tracks collaboration posts, and finds social accounts by email. AI-powered text search and lookalike operations turn a plain description into matching creators, and raw data endpoints return underlying profile, feed, and media records for custom analysis.
